Piloti’s Blue Eye / Piloti a un œil bleu

In the style of a 1950s book, a photo album with the dog Piloti as a main character!

 

Julien Baer is here playing with the young readers and presenting them with photographies treated as album illustrations: we follow a small dog with one eye that is blue, sometimes looking like a little bear or almost completely hidden in dead leaves… 

Is Piloti only a dog, a miniature dachshund to trigger such a close feeling of tenderness in his master’s look? The author-photograph invites us here to reflect on the role taken by our pet as companion in our lives and the almost magical understanding that links us to them.
