Marin, Félix et l’île aux oiseaux / The place is mine! Marin, Félix and the birds island

What if Tom Hanks in Castaway had a neighbor? He would have surely discovered the joy of sharing. Who needs a wall if a friend is on the other side…

Marin lives isolated, on an uninhabited island. Each day, he tends his vegetable garden, roams his island… and gets bored. But one day, as he unusually walks in the morning, he comes face-to-face with another man, Félix. The two shipwrecked are surprised: “What are you doing on my island?!”. Soon, they decide to build a wall to share the island in two and then have their own territory. Despite squabbles and fights, they finally manage to draw a line. Then, day after day, month after month,
they join early in the morning to work together building the wall. And learn more about each other… Until one day, Félix doesn’t show up…

A nice fable on tolerance, sharing and friendship (…) in warm colors (garnet, orange, purple) (that) stick perfectly with a text remarkably written. This beautiful tribute to Robinson Crusoe (and to Friday!) will please from 5 or 6 years old.
