RED WHALE/Baleine rouge
A beautiful tale about the unique friendship between a lonely cabin boy and a whale in the early twentieth century.
To support his family, young Eliaz, who has never seen the sea, becomes an apprentice sailor on board of ‘La Jeanne’, a deep sea fishing boat. Bullied by the other sailors, who live and work in terrible conditions, the boy grows close to Lullan, a native of Newfoundland, and a silent man respectful of Nature. To forget about his troubles, Eliaz wins over the crew with his violin – he is a wonderful musician indeed. The music attracts a young blue whale, Skye, who gets closer and closer to the men, unaware of the danger… Whatever will happen to her?
